Policy for COVID-19

Updated August 7, 2021

Dear Registered and Prospective Guests for houses at Morse Mountain,

Here is what is relevant to Morse Mountain rentals in State of Maine COVID regulations:

The State of Maine uses the U.S. CDC guidance which allows fully vaccinated Americans not to wear face coverings indoors in counties with low COVID numbers. With the uptick in the Delta variant, recommendations change daily depending on the latest data. Businesses may decide to request face coverings for the safety of staff and customers. Consistent with the U.S. CDC’s guidelines, it is recommended that people in Maine who are not fully vaccinated wear face coverings in indoor public settings. The U.S. CDC requires people to wear masks on all public transportation.

If one or more states see a spike in cases of highly contagious COVID-19 variants, Maine will apply its test or quarantine requirement to travelers to and from that state. The Maine CDC will publicly announce any such states when they are identified. For more detailed information see the Keep Maine Healthy FAQs.

Fully vaccinated people can:

  • Resume activities without wearing masks or physically distancing, except where required by  laws, rules or regulations, including local business and CDC recommendations and workplace guidance.

  • Resume domestic travel and refrain from testing before or after travel or self-quarantine after travel

Domestic Travel Recommendations for Unvaccinated people:

  • Before you travel get tested with a viral test 1-3 days before your trip.

While you are traveling:

  • Wear a mask over your nose and mouth. Masks are required on public transportation.

  • Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet from anyone who is not traveling with you.

  • Wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer (with at least 60% alcohol).

After you travel:

  • Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel AND stay home and self-quarantine for a full 7 days after travel.

  • Even if you test negative, stay home and self-quarantine for the full 7 days.

  • If your test is positive, isolate yourself to protect others from getting infected.

  • If you don’t get tested, stay home and self-quarantine for 10 days after travel.

  • Avoid being around people who are at increased risk for severe illness for 14 days, whether you get tested or not.

  • Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms

International Travel:

Before you arrive in the United States:

  • All air passengers coming to the United States, including U.S. citizens and fully vaccinated people, are required to have a negative COVID-19 test result no more than 3 days before travel or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 in the past 3 months before they board a flight to the United States.

After travel:

  • Get tested with a viral test 3-5 days after travel.

  • Self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms; isolate and get tested if you develop symptoms.

  • Follow all state and local recommendations or requirements after travel.

  • If unvaccinated, follow recommendations as outlined above for domestic travel.

Please remember to follow these safety measures as you travel throughout Maine:

  • Bring a face covering for venturing out to public places such as restaurants, retail shops, and other public places that may require masks.

  • Wash and sanitize your hands regularly.

  • Avoid unnecessary contact with people outside of your travel party.

  • If you are feeling sick or experiencing any symptoms, contact a healthcare professional immediately.

We continue to monitor guidance from the CDC and others about lodging safety.

Here are some steps we are taking:

  • Asking that no one come to a Morse Mountain house if anyone in their party or people they have had contact with has symptoms of COVID-19 within 10 days prior to arrival

  • Asking that visitors to Morse Mountain houses adhere to  CDC guidelines for COVID-19 found at  https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/communication/guidance.html

  • Ensuring a full 24 hours between guests in any house

  • Taking extra steps for thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting between guests

As state guidance evolves, we will keep you updated by posts on this website.  We will reach out to guests with reservations directly with any relevant changes.

Do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
