The Barn is located a half mile from Seawall Beach. Fifty years ago, the owners converted the Barn into a second dwelling for their children, who still use it for much of the summer. If being part of a family place appeals to you, a few weeks each summer are available for rent to other than family members.
Downstairs, a generous, sunny living room has a dining area at one end, a fireplace and shelves of books, games and puzzles for all ages. A large eat-in kitchen, a washer and dryer and a first-floor half-bath make the Barn perfect for family vacations. A large screened porch, facing the river and the ocean, provides an additional living space, and is perfect for outdoor dining. Upstairs, the Barn sleeps seven in three double bedrooms, one with a queen-size bed, and one single bedroom, sharing a full bath. Internet is available. There is no television.
The Morse River is an ideal place for bird-watching and exploring in the canoe or the kayak kept for both the Barn and the Farmhouse. A half-mile walk from Morse Farm is the mile-long Seawall Beach, the perfect place for swimming, building sand castles, collecting shells or just wandering. From the top of the Morse Mountain are views of the coast stretching from Portland to Monhegan, an archipelago of islands and, on a clear day, views of snow-covered Mt. Washington.
